Peter and Paul Okoye of the Psquare music duo have joined the campaign team of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Obi, while sparing photos of him meeting with the singers on Thursday, announced that the duo will now be joining his campaign in Rivers state.

“I welcome Psquare to PH as part of my campaign and Rivers State rally team,” the presidential candidate wrote.

Psquare had in June declared their support for the LP presidential candidate.

Paul described Obi as the “most qualified” candidate while urging people to vote for him in the forthcoming election.

The singers are among a growing list of entertainers who have declared support for the politician ahead of the election to hold in February.

Frederick Leonard and Zubby Micheal, the Nollywood actors, earlier backed Obi up for the presidency.

Charly Boy, the veteran musician, also endorsed Obi as his presidential candidate for 2023.

He also promised to stage the “biggest ever rally” to support him.

Others who have similarly declared their support are Mercy Ek and Tony Umez.

Obi is contesting against Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) among others.
