Prince Charles to walk Meghan Markle down the aisle

Prince Charles, eldest son of British monarch, Elizabeth II, will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle.

This comes after the Kensington Palace confirmed that Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father and lighting director, will not walk his daughter down the aisle.

The Hollywood actress is set to marry Harry, the youngest son of Charles.

“Ms Meghan Markle has asked his royal highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her wedding day,” the palace said in a statement.

“The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to the royal family in this way.

The ceremony, which will hold on Saturday, May 19, will omit the part of the ceremony where the bride’s hand is given away in marriage.
