Bashir el-Rufai, son of Kaduna state governor, has tied the knot with Halima Nwakaego Kazaure, his lover.

Bashir took to his social media page on Saturday to share a loved-up photo of himself and his beautiful bride.

“We did it, my Nwakaego,” he wrote in a terse post accompanying the photo.

The event, which took place at ministers’ quarters, Mabushi in Abuja, was graced by prominent dignitaries including Muhammadu Sanusi, a former Emir of Kano.

Others top guests that attended the wedding ceremony are Ahmed Lawal, senate president; Abdulaziz Yari, former governor of Zamfara state; and Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe state.

Congratulatory messages have since been pouring in for the newly-wedded couple with family and friends taking to social media to offer words of prayers for the couple.

Joining the fray, Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari, wished the couple a blissful union.

“Congratulations brother@BashirElRufai and your beautiful wife, Halima on your wedding. May Allah bless the union and make it among the very best. Allah ya bada zama lafiya,” he wrote on Twitter.

The development comes days after Bashir and Halima caused a stir on social media with their pre-wedding photos.
