Kanayo O Kanayo, a Nollywood actor, says he is now a certified lawyer after being called to the Nigerian bar.

The movie star took to his social media page to break the good news on Tuesday.

In the post, Kanayo could be seen donning his full regalia as a lawyer with smiles etched on his face.

“To God be all the glory. You can now address me as Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, Esq, MFR (barrister and solicitor of the supreme court of Nigeria),” he wrote on Instagram.

It is understood that the award-winning movie star sat for his final examination and passed it in July.

The development comes about two years after the ace movie star bagged his law degree from the University of Abuja.

In October 2018, the 58-year-old, whose real name is Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, had graduated from UniAbuja– after five years at the institution — before proceeding to the law school.

Congratulatory messages have begun to pour in for the latest barrister in town as words of his achievement spread.

The actor cum politician made his film debut in ‘Living in Bondage’, a Nollywood classic.

He has since featured in hundreds of movies and established himself as a prominent name in the Nigerian movie industry.

In 2019, he contested to represent Ahiazu/ Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency, Imo state at the house of representatives under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
