The intoxicated driver, reportedly coming from a campus hangout called “New Buka”, swerved off the main road and crashed into the entrance of the hall, hitting a bike man in the process.

He was held hostage by a group of students who rushed out to attend to the situation.

After about 15 minutes, another driver rammed into a car on the road filled with students who came to the nearby scene of the first accident.

Eyewitnesses told TheCable Lifestyle that the driver, who was coming from the same location as the first driver, sped away from the scene.

Almost immediately, the school security put calls through to all the exits and ordered the gates to be locked so as to prevent the driver from escaping.

Everyone injured in the accident was rushed to the school’s health centre but were subsequently referred to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) for better treatment.

“We seriously can’t explain why drunks get to this part of the school before they crash, this is not the first time an accident would occur here as a result of reckless driving; management should please look into it”, a student told TheCable Lifestyle.
