Akanji Ifeoluwa Haddasah, the lady from Osun state who set her husband ablaze, has committed suicide.
Yemisi Opalola, the Osun police PRO, confirmed her death to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday night.
It earlier emerged that Ifeoluwa set her husband, identified as Bolu Bamidele, ablaze for allegedly cheating on her.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 17 at about 11:30 pm at their home in Koka community, Ibokun LGA.
Opalola disclosed that the victim was rushed to the Osogbo Central Hospital and later referred to UCH Ibadan.
Bamidele would later pass away on Tuesday at about 4 pm, with multiple gory photos of him surfacing online.
It was said that Ifeoluwa was on the run as local authorities investigated the matter and worked to apprehend her.
In a follow-up on the case, the Osun police confirmed that the culprit committed suicide on Thursday evening.
Opalola said the culprit was found on the same day. She was said to have consumed a bottle of insecticide.
“She died late yesterday, around 7 pm. She drank sniper,” the police spokesperson said.
Earlier, sources recounted how the culprit left notes on WhatsApp, saying her man had pushed her “to the edge”.
“I’ve always been a calm girl and I’ve never done this in my life but Teebam has pushed me to the edge,” it reads.
“At this point, y’all will weep over myself and him before daybreak. I’m promising y’all that!”
It was gathered that her now-late husband lived in Cairo and was on a visit to Nigeria before she killed him.
