In a YouTube post on Yul Edochie TV, the actor said things have seriously deteriorated in the country, hence President Buhari should “go home and get some rest”.

His counsel to the president trails the scathing assessment of Buhari’s administration by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Edochie said in the video: “I hear you want to run for a second term in office and as a concerned Nigeria, I decided to do this.

“Please, sir, don’t bother. Just leave it. I don’t think Nigerians can endure another four years of what is going on now.

“I listened to your inaugural speech in 2014, and you sounded like you really wanted to change things. I don’t know what went wrong.

“Nigerians expected so much from you. The hardship is too much, the issues are too much, the insecurity, fuel scarcity. Nigerians have been turned to beggars. It’s terrible, sir.

“I believe you are a good man but maybe something went wrong along the line.

“Mr President, there is no time. We need another person, we need a young person that will come out and start tackling the issues.

“The suffering is unbearable. Please, sir go home and get some rest.”

Edochie ran for the Anambra governorship election in 2017 but lost to Willie Obiano, the incumbent governor.
