The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it is investigating a viral video of erotic dance among its corps members.

The footage from a yet-to-be-identified orientation camp had shown corps members dancing erotically.

In the video, one female corps member was seen giving a lap dance to a male counterpart.

The video, which attracted condemnations from Nigerians, also showed a male corps member hitting his crotch against a female’s while another corps member was heard screaming, “give am well”.

Reacting in a statement by Emeka Mgbemena, its deputy director for press and public relations, the scheme said it will never “condone such irresponsible behaviour.”

In the statement dated March 16, the NYSC said the corps members, if found culpable, will be “treated in accordance with the bye-laws of the Scheme.”

“The attention of NYSC Management has been drawn to a video currently trending on the social media,” its said.

“[It is] showing corps members supposedly in NYSC orientation camp in very compromising actions that pushed beyond the boundary of decency.

“The management hereby restates that the scheme is founded on discipline, patriotism, and youth-reorientation and will never condone such irresponsible behaviour.

“Investigation is currently ongoing, and anyone found culpable will be treated in accordance with the bye-laws of the Scheme.”
