In an X post on Friday, a user asked what inspired the rapper’s collaboration with Davido.

“What drew you to Davido for the song ‘If It’s Okay’? In my opinion, he was an ideal choice for this incredible masterpiece! He was speaking that ish,” the user wrote.

Reacting to the tweet in another post, Minaj said she featured Davido because she wanted to infuse “Afrobeats feeling” into the song.

“That man is an incredible writer & melody maker. It’s always a pleasure working with him b/c of our mutual respect for one another,” she wrote.

“I asked him to be a part of it in order to bring out the Afro beats tempo/feeling in it a bit more. Nigeria to the world.”
