Netflix, US media-services firm, says ‘Money Heist’, a popular Spanish crime drama series, will return for a fifth season but it will be its last.
The US-owned streaming platform took to its verified social media pages to break the news on Friday.
“Do you have your mask ready? You’re going to need it one last time #MoneyHeist Season 5, confirmed,” it wrote alongside a picture of a Salvador Dalí mask, broken, and lying on the ground.
In another post, the streaming giant said the crime drama series — also known as La Casa de Papel — will be coming to an end in season five.

“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel,” EW quoted Alex Pina, creator and executive producer, as saying.
“The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”
Production on all of Netflix’s original series was temporarily halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is, however, believed that production on the 10-episode final season will begin on August 3, while the series will be filmed in Spain, Portugal and Denmark.
