In a recent interview on ‘The Nzes’ podcast, Oyebade said her parents were initially against their union due to “religious differences”.

She added that they later allowed them to proceed with the marriage after her husband held a face-to-face meeting with her parents.

“When he got serious and he was like he wants to marry me. I was like how do I tell my parents? My mum was not around. She was in the United States, so I called her and told her. It was tough,” she said.

“His parents were liberal but my parents were against it. My dad was like ‘No, never! That Muslim boy, you can not marry him o’. When I told him, he said ‘What? They will accept’ so he went to meet them.”

In December 2021, Oyebade and Adedimeji tied the knot.

The actress had earlier opened up on their relationship, and how it morphed into marriage.

She said the marriage proposal from Adedimeji came as a surprise to her.

The actress said after hesitation, she eventually chose to embrace love.

Oyebade went on to appreciate her husband for always supporting her, adding that “I’m glad we are locked together forever”.
