Adebimpe Oyebade, Nigerian actress, has opened up on her marriage to Lateef Adedimeji, her colleague in the movie industry.
The celebrity couple tied the knot in December at a decorated ceremony attended by several prominent figures.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Oyebade said the marriage proposal from Adedimeji came as a surprise to her.
The film star recalled that in March last year, Adedimeji indicated his interest to go beyond just being a friend with her.
Oyebade said after delaying for a while, she finally decided to give love a chance. She also said she is happy with the decision, adding that it was one of her major moments in 2021.
“So, there was all my life and that one time, there were people’s projects and trust me to give my all, there were stories on blogs and I didn’t even know how to react, but I started the year 2021 as Miss Oyebade and I ended the year as Mrs Adedimeji …believe me I didn’t see that coming,” she wrote.
“Sometime in March, it became more clearer to me that my best friend wanted more, dude was relentless, he knew what he wanted and as childish as I was, he was patient, it was a no brainer, I gave love a chance and today I’m happy for it…”
The actress went on to appreciate her husband for always supporting her, adding that “I’m glad we’re locked together forever.”
