According to NAN, the Nollywood actor’s forthcoming lifestyle website is to be launched on Sunday in Pretoria as a product of a bi-national synergy between Ezuruonye and Moleboheng Matli, a South African media entrepreneur.

In a joint statement, Ezuruonye and Matli said the premiere of their SouthGerian magazine would “break new grounds by bringing two of the continent’s biggest economies under one digital platform”.

They noted that the magazine’s South Africa launch will hold at Freedom Park Heritage Destination in Pretoria.

Organisers of the event also revealed that a Nigerian launch of SouthGerian is to follow thereafter on April 27.

“The objective of the magazine is to strengthen South Africa and Nigeria relations, magnify their competitive advantages as the continent’s leading economic giants,” both parties wrote in the statement.

“And in turn, be the bridge to eliminate the gap which has created space and given rise to festering stereotypes which breeds and spreads unwanted tensions, stresses, and regression in the continent.”

On the heels of the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa back in 2019, there had been confrontations between entertainers from both countries, a situation which had heightened tension.

With SouthGerian, Ezuronye and Matli hope to unite the two nations and create economic solutions for Africa.

“Through the magazine, Africans will have a bridge to walk across as they drive solutions for Africa and the globe and, unite their own continent and inspire pride in themselves,” they further said in the statement.

“We have found value proposition in having a dedicated division to spearhead all activities and collate our combined twelve (12) year journey and experience in both the South African and Nigerian markets.”

According to the duo, the magazine launch is expected to be attended by South African and Nigerian diplomats, business and political leaders from both countries, as well as top moguls in fashion and showbiz.
