MI Abaga, Wande Coal, and Ayra Starr are among the top entertainers enlisted to headline the 2021 edition of the Laugh Fest variety show fundraiser.

In a statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle on Wednesday, the organisers said the event would hold on December 22 at the Terra Kulture Arena in Lagos state.

The annual event is organised by the Joyful Joy Foundation, an organisation founded by Osas Ighodaro, the Nigerian actress, to support the fight against Malaria.

The event is also expected to feature performances from Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, Dream Catchers, Babs Cardini, and Gifty Louise.

The show will feature a host of top comedians including Bovi, Buchi, Real Warri Pikin, Kenny Blaq, and Lasisi Elenu.

Among activities listed for the show include a celebrity date segment featuring Falz, Erica, Pere, Sharon Ooja, Lilo, Kunle Remi, Lilian Afegbai, Jimmie Akinsola, Venita, Dorathy, Neo, DJ Tgarbs, Symba, Prince, Ike and Titi Kuti.

This year’s edition of the event will be hosted by Chigul, Nigerian comedian and singer, born Chioma Omeruah.

According to the organisers, the event is aimed at raising funds to fight malaria in addition to entertainment.

“Beyond the fun and entertaining activities of Laugh Fest is the core goal of raising funds for the fight against malaria,” the statement read.
