Mercy Eke: My last relationship was disastrous

Mercy Eke, former winner of the Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) reality TV show, says her last relationship was disastrous.

Her comment is believed to be a response to a recent interview granted by Ike Onyema, her former lover.

Mercy Eke had been romantically involved with Ike during their time in the 2019 edition of BBNaija, which she eventually won.

But in November last year, the reality TV star revealed that she was no longer in a relationship with Ike while also announcing her marriage to one ‘Mr H’, her mystery man.

The pair’s failed relationship has continued to dominate discussions on social media platforms since then.

During the recent interview, Ike had again reflected on their controversial split and said he would love to date an intelligent lady who is not obsessed with social media — in what appeared to be a dig at Mercy.

Reacting in a now-viral video, Mercy relished the fact that she exited her last relationship, saying “it was a total disaster.”

“My last relationship was a total disaster, it was disastrous,” she said.

In another cryptic post via her Instagram page, the entrepreneur wrote: “She’s so unintelligent, she’s nothing without a man.”

In April, Ike had also said his happiest moment in life was after his last relationship ended.

“I had a couple of girlfriends but my best advice right now is guys, just make sure you are happy because a relationship involves a lot of work and sacrifice,” he had said.

“Don’t jump into it until you are ready, trust me. A real relationship only works when you have the right partner. My happiest moment in life was when I got out of my last relationship.”
