Videos of Mohbad, the fast-rising Nigerian singer, fearing for his life amid his ordeal with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have gone viral on social media.
Zinoleesky and Mohbad, who are both singers under Naira Marley’s Marlian Music, were arrested on Thursday by the NDLEA during a raid.
Femi Babafemi, a spokesperson of the NDLEA, had told TheCable Lifestyle that the musicians were arrested alongside four others “after some quantities of Cannabis and Molly were recovered from their apartment and car.”
In the early hours of Friday, disturbing videos of Mohbad from a live Instagram surfaced showing the young singer asking the public to hold “Marlian Music and Naira Marley responsible if I am killed” amid the drug controversy.
Some individuals are seen surrounding Mohbad in a dimly lit vicinity while he screamed he didn’t want to be killed.
“My God will never mess me up. I’m in the estate. Don’t let anyone near me please, just the policemen. I thought I didn’t know what I was doing but look at all these people,” he could be heard saying while sweating and in panic.
“Don’t open the gate for anybody. Please, just help me. I don’t want to die. I don’t know why these people are behaving like this to me. Everybody in the world, if I die it’s Marlian Music [of] Naira Marley killed me.
“They’ve been doing bad things to me. I went mad because of this issue. Now they’re trying to kill me.”

Marley, in a tweet, had stated that he was returning urgently to Lagos to take control of the situation.
“The boys are under a lot of stress after being ambushed in the middle of the night with no warrant,” he wrote.
The NDLEA case and the drug discovery further complicate Naira Marley’s ongoing brush with law enforcement.
Marley himself is still facing an 11-count charge on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards, and fraud.
He was first arrested in May 2019 by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
