Mohbad, the Nigerian singer, passed away on Tuesday, leaving his own legacy in the music scene.


Mohbad’s life exemplified talent, resilience, and authenticity.

Mohbad’s meteoric rise in the Nigerian music began in 2019.

He was formerly associated with Marlian Records, a record label owned by Naira Marley, before parting ways in 2022.


His musical style seamlessly fused elements of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afropop, and Hip-hop.

In 2020, Mohbad released an extended play (EP) titled ‘Light’.

His musical prowess earned him a nomination in the best street-hop artiste category at the 15th Headies awards.


He also received five nominations at The Beatz Awards in 2021.

In 2022, Mohbad released ‘Peace’, produced by Rexxie.

The song successfully secured a spot on TurnTable charts’ Top 50 in 2021 and remained in the Top 100 in 2022.

Mohbad’s last body of work was released in June and titled ‘Blessed’.
