Jimi Disu, an ace Nigerian journalist, has announced that he is leaving Classic FM to Nigerian Info FM.

The media personality broke the news on his social media page on Monday.

In the post, Disu told his fans — most of whom were shocked by the development — to hook up with him on Nigerian Info FM as from August 1, 2020.

“From August 1, you can now catch Jimi Disu; Tues to Fridays, 7.30am on Dailies today and 9am on Daily Digest with Jimi Disu on @NigeriainfoFM (99.3fm). The Discourse with Jimi Disu is on every Sat at 8am, same station. All sponsored by @MTNNG,” he wrote on Twitter.

Disu, however, did not provide further details as to what informed the move.

Until his announcement, the renowned journalist was a prominent figure at Classic FM as a resident analyst on ‘Front Page News’, a programme by the media outlet.

He was also the anchor of ‘Discourse with Jimi Disu’, a popular programme of the station. Disu is widely known for his wealth of experience across the Nigerian media landscape.

He previously served as assistant editor at the Punch, business editor of  Vanguard newspaper, as well as marketing director at the Compass and 234Next respectively.

He had also featured on Channels Television and TV Continental wherein he dissects national issues.

According to his blog, Disu had also served as a judge at the Diamond Award For Media Excellence (DAME) for over 10 years.
