Jennifer Lopez, American actress, and Alex Rodriguez, better known as A-Rod, have dismissed claims that they have broken up.

Reports had swirled on Friday that the pair have ended their relationship about two years after their engagement.

The development had come amid claims that Rodriguez was having an affair with Madison LeCroy, a South Carolina movie star.

But reacting in a joint statement to the Associated Press (AP) on Saturday, the duo said “all the reports are inaccurate.”

The email sent by their representatives quoted the pair as saying “we are working through some things.”

The movie star, 51, and the ex-baseball shortstop, 45, met in 2017 and started dating thereafter with A-Rod engaging the actress in March 2019.

Before news of their alleged split broke, the pair had postponed their wedding on two occasions, citing the coronavirus pandemic.

Lopez had told Elle, a US-based celebrity magazine, in January that they are not in a rush to hold the wedding.

“We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that,” she had said.

“We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it.”
