The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates against engaging in multiple registrations ahead of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration exercise.

Registration for the 2024 UTME is to commence on January 15.

According to JAMB’s latest bulletin, the board, in a statement signed by Ville Pius, the director of its test administration department, warned that it will be disqualifying and prosecuting candidates who indulge in multiple registrations.

“Multiple registrations are not allowed in the 2024 UTME exercise, candidates, who register more than once would be identified, disqualified and prosecuted,” Pius said.

The director said candidates are to approach the board for necessary corrections rather than obtaining fresh application documents in the event of any error during the registration process.

The statement said the affected candidates would be deemed to have engaged in multiple registrations, invalidating their applications if they acted otherwise.

Pius urged candidates to read and understand the various guidelines on registration.

The statement also said prospective candidates are reminded that upon the completion of registration, they would be required to sign an MoU on compliance with ethical standards guiding their applications.

The director advised candidates against divulging their security details such as registration numbers, passwords, e-mail addresses, and e-PIN to third parties, adding that no centre is allowed to request or accept candidates’ passwords.

JAMB earlier announced that the deadline for the 2024 UTME Registration is February 26.

The 2024 UTME examination, it added, is to be held from April 19 to 29.
