Austin Faani, the estranged husband of Chacha Eke Faani, has dismissed domestic violence claims against him by the actress.

Faani, who is a movie director, tied the knot with the actress in 2013. The couple has four children.

But on Tuesday, the film star announced her separation from Faani, saying “I don’t want to die.”

Eke had also hinted that her marriage to Faani was an abusive one as she advised couples to exit abusive relationships alive or risk losing their lives.

“Many have died pretending all is well whilst wishing, hoping, and praying for a better tomorrow. I don’t want to “die” or go inexplicably “missing,” she had written.

Reacting to the film star’s post via his Instagram page, Faani said he is not a violent person.

He also claimed he has never raised his hand on any woman before, adding that those familiar with the issue in his marriage “know the absolute truth.”

“I am not a violent person. Personally I detest violence in any form. I have never raised my hand on any woman in my life, including my wife,” he wrote.

“Everyone close to this case knows the absolute truth and it is not in my place to divulge it. The one person who started the talk will in due time continues to talk. Let light lead.”

In 2020, Chacha similarly announced the end of her marriage to the movie director.

The actress would later disclose her battle with bipolar disorder while denying claims her marriage ended due to domestic violence.
