The Lagos state government has promised to assist the family of Mohbad.

Born Ilerioluwa Aloba, the fast-rising singer died last Tuesday and was buried on Wednesday.

The circumstance surrounding his death has continued to stir up controversies on social media.

Before his demise, Mohbad had a child with Omowumi, his baby mama.

A delegation from Lagos, led by Obafemi Hamzat, the state deputy governor, on Tuesday, visited the mother of Mohbad to offer condolences and reassurance following his death.

During the visit, Hamzat reiterated the commitment of the state government to ensure that justice prevails in the matter.

The deputy governor also revealed that the state government will take care of the son of the deceased singer.

“The Deputy Governor once again assured the family that Justice will be done on this matter and that the DSS will join the police for a thorough investigation,” reads a post shared on X by Jubril Gawat, the special assistant to the governor on new media.

“The Deputy Governor also announced the Government will assist the family and that Mohbad’s child will be well taken care of”.

The delegation included Tayo Ayinde, chief of staff to the governor; Mobolaji Ogunlende, commissioner for youth; Gbenga Omotoso, commisioner for information; and Idris Aregbe, special adviser on tourism.

On Monday, the Lagos state police command inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the death of the singer.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos governor, also invited operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to join in the ongoing investigation into the singer’s death.
