Globacom, Nigerian telecommunications company, has signed Timaya as one of its brand ambassadors.
The ‘Dem Mama’ singer recently performed at the Enugu Campus of University of Nigeria for the ‘Glo Campus Storm’.

For his counterpart, Wzkid, real name Ayo Balogun, a reverse in fortune is the case.
Wizkid, Friday evening, announced the end of his time as a brand ambassador for the telecommunication giant.
The ‘Shabba’ singer wished the company “the best” while noting that he enjoyed working with “amazing people” at Globacom.
Wizkid wrote on his Twitter page: “Officially no longer with GLO, it was nice working with the amazing people at the company, wish the company the best in the future.”
Besides Wizkid, Globacom is believed to have parted ways with some other celebrity brand ambassadors.
TheCable Lifestyle in September reported that Globacom had resolved to terminate the contract of Psquare, comprised of Peter and Paul Okoye.
The rather public nature of the controversies in the Psquare camp was said to have been a motivating factor behind the decision.
Although Psquare wrote the management of Globacom to reconsider them as brand ambassadors, that ship had already sailed.
