Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano state government, has officially accepted the hosting rights ahead of the 2019 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how the governor was selected as the chief host for BON’s 2019 award event, slated for December 14, in Kano.

On Wednesday, Ganduje unveiled the state’s “right to host” the award in presence of prominent politicians, showbusiness magnates, and other stakeholders.

“We’re are excited that Best of Nollywood is taking here and this is history in the making for the good people of Kano State,” he said as Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of BON, presented him with the certificate.

The governor also used the opportunity to welcome the industry players to the state while promising “peaceful and enjoyable stay.”

On the partnerships toward the 2019 event, BON said Peugeot, a French automotive manufacturer; Max Air, an airline based in Nigeria; and La Cesara’s have given their endorsements.

“The city of Kano State will be agog on December 14, 2019, as crème de la crème of the make-believe industry will storm the state for the 2019 edition of Best of Nollywood Awards,” BON said.

“In a related development, the makers of the luxury car brand, Peugeot, among others, has also thrown its weight behind the awards. The French automotive manufacturer will be joining the likes of Max Air, LaCasera and others.”
