Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti state, has taken to social media to celebrate Olabisi Adeleye-Fayemi, his wife, on their thirtieth wedding anniversary.

Fayemi and his beautiful wife have been married since 1989. The marriage has been blessed with a son.

On Monday morning, the governor took to his Twitter page to pen a glowing tribute to his “sweetheart”.

He expressed his gratitude to her for being an amazing wife. He also referred to her as “loving partner'”, “a wonderful mother” and “his best friend at all times”.

“‘Labisi, three decades and still counting. Thank you for being an amazing wife, a loving partner, a wonderful mother to Oluwafolajimi and my best friend at all times. Happy wedding anniversary. JK,” he wrote.

Olabisi is a British-Nigerian feminist activist, writer and policy advocate. She co-founded the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), the first Pan-African grant-making organisation in 2001.

She also led the campaign to enact a Gender Based Violence Prohibition Law (2011), an Equal Opportunities Bill (2013) and an HIV Anti-Stigma Bill (2014).

Olabisi has also been actively involved in a range of policy advocacy, grassroots empowerment and social inclusion programs in Ekiti state.
