Tima, the fast-rising singer, has come through a single titled ‘Angels’ — ahead of her debut extended play (EP).
”Angels’ is a mix of Afro rhythms and blues with a touch of soul.
In the song, Time eulogises the power and beauty of inner conviction and upholding attentiveness to one’s small gentle voice.
“In a world where many young people are under a lot of pressure to conform or gravitate towards the crowd, I believe that reflection is a valuable asset,” she said.
“It’s in light of this that I repeatedly described myself as a ‘rebel’ in the piece.”
Her EP, which houses the single, features Prince Miah, the young artiste based in Jos, Plateau state.
The EP consists of Rhythm and Blues/Soul and a little bit of Afrobeats.
Speaking on the project, Tima said her desire is to make a mark on the Afro-music genre.
“I’m aware that beat is very important to young people, but I also spend time thinking about lyrics,” she said.
“I believe that music, apart from being relatable, should also convey a positive message.”
Tima said she plans to release a sequel to ‘Angels’ in May.
The singer, whose full name is Fatima Nda-Isaiah, is based in Abuja.
She started her singing career as a performer in her school band but only sang covers of music by other artistes.
As time went on, she discovered her passion for writing music as well as singing.
