Teni Apata, the Nigerian singer, has come through with a new single titled ‘Malaika’.

The songwriter released the track on streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday.

In the new song, Teni goes spiritual as she calls on ‘Malaika’ — which means angels in the Yoruba language — for protection.

The songstress also affirms her faith in God as she continues with her life’s journey.

“Eli Elijah/Eli Elijah ah ah/Ọrun ṣi ilẹkun/Malaika sọkalẹ wa/Eli Elijah o/Eli Elijah/Eli Elijah ah ah/
Ọrun ṣi bo’lẹ/Malaika sọkalẹ wa/Malaika sọkalẹ wa o/Malaika sọkalẹ wa/Malaika sọkalẹ wa o/Malaika sọkalẹ wa,” she sings.

“I am at peace with God and at peace with myself/ I surrender, I surrender/ No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper / Back to sender, back to sender.

“Lord, I give You my heart and my soul and devotion / You give me peace of mind/And I see all Your works and the good that You are doing”.

The song gives a glimpse into what Teni has in store for her fans in her upcoming album ‘Tears Of The Sun’.

The singer gained prominence after releasing ‘Fargin’ in 2017.

Teni has established a name for herself in the Nigerian music industry with many hit songs.
