Sam Smith, an English singer and songwriter, has fulfilled his promise to release ‘My Oasis’, a new single, wherein he featured Damini Ogulu, a Nigerian Afrobeat star better known as Burna Boy.

The talented 28-year-old British songwriter had earlier taken to his social media page to break the news of the collaboration with his numerous fans.

On the song, Smith appears to be longing for a reciprocal love as he croons about a lover who he can’t stop thinking about, even though her affection seems uncertain.

“You play with my emotions/I’m flowing like the ocean/I pray for your devotion/’Cause there’s nothing I can do when it comes to you,” he can be heard singing.

Smith and Burna Boy wrote the song alongside Jimmy Napes.

“This track has been a beautiful release of emotions for me during this time,” the UK singer said in a statement. On the inclusion of the ‘African Giant’ crooner, he said: “I’ve been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him.”

The new project comes after Smith’s short hiatus from the music landscape.

It also comes months after the singer postponed the release of ‘To Die For’, his third studio album, earlier billed for May 1, 2020, over inappropriate timing.
