Jermaine Cole, American rapper and songwriter better known as J. Cole, has put out ‘Snow On Tha Bluff”, his first song of 2020.

The North Carolina star released the four-minute project — which came as a surprise to his numerous fans — on Tuesday.

On the introspective track, the 35-year-old rapper discusses the current discourse around the Black Lives Matter movement, particularly on social media, and a range of contemporary issues in the world.

‘Snow on Tha Bluff’ comes amid ongoing protests against police brutality and racism in the US which was triggered by the killing of George Floyd, a black-American, by a white police officer on May 25.

“These shackles be lockin the mental way more than physical, I look at freedom like trees/Can’t grow a forest like overnight, hit the ghetto and slowly start planting your seeds,” the Fayetteville native can he heard rapping in the track.

“F**k is the point of you preaching your message to those that already believe what you believe?/I’m on some ‘f**k a retweet,’ most people is sheep/You got all the answers but how you gon reach?”

The ‘KOD’ rapper also mirrors on the struggles which he and other celebrities face combing activism with being a celebrity.
