Chukwuka Ekweani, the Nigerian singer better known as Ckay, has put out ‘You’, his new single.
The song — produced by Christer Kobedi — is from ‘Sad Romance’, the singer’s upcoming debut album.
In the less than four-minute track, the 27-year-old talks about his vulnerability to his lover and how he’s so much in love with her.
“Take it like it’s yours/ But we won’t take pictures/ Don’t let nobody see us/ Cos tonight of all nights/ I see your brake light/ You skrr into my life/ Let me put it down on you/If you don’t understand let me break it down for you/Baby I’m in love with you,” he sings.
Ckay is currently signed to Warner Music South Africa.
He was formerly signed to Chocolate City, a member of Warner Music Group’s independent label services ADA.
The singer is known for his hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’ which was released in 2019.
In September 2017, he released his first extended play (EP) titled ‘Who the Fuck Is CKay?’
‘CKay the First’, his second EP, was put out in August 2019.
He thereafter released his third EP titled ‘Boyfriend’ — also through Warner Music South Africa — in February 2021.
In March 2022, the song debuted at number one following the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart.
