CKay, the Nigerian singer-songwriter, has put out ‘Watawi’, a single featuring Davido, the Afropop star.
The song, which also featured South Africa’s Focalistic and Abidoza, was put out across the streaming platforms on Friday.
In ‘Watawi’ (what are we), Ckay describes the complicated nature of his relationship with a perceived lover.
He also touches on the uncertainties that bedevil relationships, the place of wealth, and the pressure from women.
“She whispers things inside my ear. Me tell her things wey she wanna hear,” Ckay can be heard saying in the song.
Ckay is signed to Warner Music South Africa.
He was formerly signed to Chocolate City, a member of Warner Music Group’s independent label services ADA.
The singer is known for his hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’ which was released in 2019.
In March 2022, the song debuted at number one following the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart.
