Bella Shmurda, a Nigerian artiste, has come through with ‘Rush’, his first single of 2021.
The fast-rising singer put out the song in the early hours of Wednesday which happens to be his birthday.
“Happy ‘Rush Day’ and Happy Birthday to me…Stream Hard to give me a birthday gift, link below,” he wrote on Twitter.
The less than three-minute song sees Shmurda taking a swipe at his critics while reiterating his determination to achieve his goals regardless of all odds.
“Dem say I’m living in a rush because am moving fast. Dem say my matter don cast but me I no reply. Why dem asking me why. Why am always getting high. Maami I never reply cos high way thats my way,” he could be heard singing in a mixture of Pidgin and English.
The singer started pulling the weights of fame when he dropped ‘Vision 2020’, his 2019 single, wherein he talked about his quest to take the country’s music industry by storm.
He continued his impressive run in 2020 with the release of ‘Cash App,’ a hit song, which featured Zlatan Ibile and Lincoln.
The song has not only shot him into the limelight but also fetched him numerous recognitions including a nomination for the ‘Next Rated’ category at the 14 edition of The Headies.
Shmurda also made the headlines earlier this month over reports that he was drunk during a stage performance — a claim he debunked.
