Burna Boy, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has tackled those criticising him for shaving his beard.

The musician’s hair and beard have become an integral part of his appearance over the years.

The ‘African Giant’ crooner, however, shocked many of his fans recently when he shared a beardless clip of himself.

His new appearance has continued to elicit mixed reactions, with critics expressing their reservations.

Reacting in a post via his Instagram story on Sunday, the ‘Ye’ singer said people should not base their likeness for him on certain factors.

Burna Boy also warned that he could be forced to cut his hair should the criticism persists.

“I love you all too! But don’t make me cut the hair on my head as well. If you love me for my hair? Or my Beard or some shit I bought with money,” he wrote.

“Then that’s Great but anybody can grow hair and buy shit. Don’t build your life on conditional Love. Build on family. Build on those who have shown no sign of potential disLoyalty. Build on talent, build on God!”

With numerous awards and recognition, Burna Boy has established himself as a prominent name in the global music landscape.

He has also been in the news on numerous occasions for his controversial thoughts on socio-political issues facing Nigeria.

The music star had recently tackled the federal government over ban of cannabis in the country, describing such move as hypocritical.
