Denrele Edun, the media personality, says Goldie Harvey, the late Nigerian songstress, had an extra-marital affair with him before she died.

Edun spoke of the nature of their friendship in interview footage now making the rounds on social media.

Goldie married Andrew Harvey, the engineer based in Malaysia, though this wasn’t widely known until her death.

Edun said he and the late singer got intimate a couple of times despite knowing she was married.

“I’ve not shared this anywhere but I can as well give the show a small exclusive. My beautiful late friend Goldie. A lot of people just thought we were friends but we did have a few intimate moments,” he said.

“That’s, why I would say I was the driving force. I knew she was married of course. We kept that secret. It was even more than friendship.

“We’d had a few enter-the-corner [moments]. That was why I constantly wanted to see her make things happen.”

After returning home to Nigeria from the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California, Goldie had complained of a headache and was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Although there were rumours that she may have used drugs that caused her death, her husband denied that possibility.

An autopsy conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) revealed that the pop star died of “hypertensive heart disease,” which triggered an “intracerebral hemorrhage.”

Goldie, who was 31 at the time of her death, was laid to rest at the Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos on February 25, 2013.
