Kunle Afolayan, Nigerian filmmaker, says his upcoming movie ‘Citation’ would explore the prevalence of sexual harassment in higher institutions.
The talented producer, who disclosed this on his Instagram page, also shared snippets showing some of the movie production scenes.
He said the recent BBC documentary — ‘Sex For Grades’ — by Kiki Mordi was indicative of the extent to which the scourge has taken root on campuses.

“I don’t think it is a coincidence that the BBC News, BBC Africa is just talking about a subject matter we have been working on as a film project for almost 2years, ‘CITATION’,” Afolayan wrote.
“It’s a University drama surrounding a female postgraduate student who has to find a way of dealing with the awkward situation of sexual harassment from a popular male lecturer.”
He also disclosed that the movie’s production would take place across three countries including Nigeria, Senegal and Cape Verde.
The new movie, written by Tunde Babalola, would be directed by the veteran actor himself — who will act as the director and producer simultaneously.
Afolayan, son of the late Adeyemi Afolayan, famous actor, film director and producer, is widely reputed for his ability to produce movies with culturally relevance.
Details on the cast and release date are yet to be released.
