Michelle Obama, former US first lady, has wowed her fans after she shared a picture of herself working out in the gym to keep fit.
The 55-year-old wife of Barack Obama, former US president, took to her Instagram page on Sunday to bless her nearly 34 million followers with a flick of herself working out with a medicine ball.
The author and celebrated political figure is seen wearing a black sports bra, leggings, trainers, and a cap, and performing a lunge while holding the weighted medicine ball above her head in promotion of a self-care Sunday.
“It doesn’t always feel good in the moment. But after the fact, I’m always glad I hit the gym,” she captioned the photo before questioning, “how did you all take care of yourself on this #SelfCareSunday?”
The post has received close to 1.6 million likes and comments from some of Obama’s high profile followers and fans.
The message is ostensibly a reflection of her trademark campaign for women and child health.
The mother of two is reputed to be a huge advocate for living an active lifestyle and she always appears to be strong, fit, and healthy.

When I was at the White House, I often hosted bootcamp weekends for my close girlfriends. It didn’t matter that we were all at varying fitness levels. Our bootcamp weekends were a reminder that if we want to keep taking care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first. And even though I’m no longer at the White House, I've continued this tradition and wanted to share some photos. My girlfriends have been there for me through all kinds of life transitions over the years – including a pretty big one recently! – and we’ve done our best to stay healthy together. Whether it’s a bootcamp or a walk around the neighborhood, I hope you and your crew can find some time this summer to be healthy together.
There is no gainsaying Michelle is all about self-care.
