Chioma Akpotha, Kate Henshaw, and Waje are allegedly victims of both physical and verbal attacks at their different polling units in Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos.

A few hours into the commencement of the governorship and state house of assembly elections on Saturday, the celebrities took to their different social media platforms to narrate their ugly ordeals at their polling units.

In an Instagram post, Akpotha said shortly after accreditation, she brought out her phone to update her fans on the happenings at her units.

The actress said as soon as she brought out the phone, some unidentified persons pulled out knives and bottles to attack her.

Making the video from a moving Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Apotha added that her car was also destroyed while she was trying to flee the scene.

“Today is just the worst. I came out to vote,” she said.

“I couldn’t even bring out my phone to record or to say that I’m at my Polling Unit. As soon as I brought my phone out, these guys came to attack me with knives, bottles, and everything.

“I had to run out, they destroyed my side mirror. I don’t even know the extent of the damage to the car but I just ran out for my life because they were bringing out knives; they wanted to stab me. Thank God I came with some people to help me.”

Akpotha had alleged an attack by thugs at her polling unit during the presidential election on February 25.

On her part, Kate Henshaw claimed she was attacked by Rashidat Adu, chairman of the Eti-Osa LGA.

The actress, however, declared that the alleged intimidation and attacks won’t deter her from exercising her franchise.

“No one can intimidate me!! I have every right to carry out my duty,” she said in a video shared on Twitter,

“No amount of abuse or vitriol will work. You are a public servant!! I have taken note of all your thugs!!.”

In the same vein, Waje, the singer, also alleged verbal attack and intimidation from “touts”. She also claimed her friend was beaten up.

“I can’t even believe it because this is absolute bullshit. INEC, I’m ashamed,” she said.

“I get to my polling unit and I find out that they moved us to a rural area.

“The queue, everything was going peacefully, next thing, touts started hanging around, if you bring out your phone to even making a call, they start beating you up.

“They scattered the whole table and started beating people up. There was no security.

“As we were moving out, my friend that was with me, a random guy started chasing him and beating him, saying that he is an Igbo man, that he should go back to Anambra to go and vote. Who does that? You guys are evil, you knew what you were doing.

“Anyway, I’m going home, I’m no superhero, I’m going to my house because this is rubbish.”
