Since bursting onto the music landscape in December 2021, Portable, born Habeeb Okikola, has adopted controversies as a crucial method to stay relevant in showbiz. No week goes by without the singer being in the news.
From calling out his colleagues on social media to putting out diss songs aimed toward his perceived adversaries, Portable’s penchant for trouble knows no bounds.
Here is a list of celebrities he has had feuds with.
- Zlatan
Portable has a long history of feuding with fellow singers. The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker recently accused Zlatan of trying to create a rift between him and Davido.
Earlier this month, Portable had dinner with Davido, the DMW boss, at a restaurant in Atlanta, the United States. He was also gifted a brand-new pair of luxurious Dior sneakers.
However after the meeting, Portable claimed Zlatan called Davido telling him to be careful around him.
He also claimed Davido’s mood changed after the call. He alleged that the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker inquired why he and Dammy Krane wrote a diss track about him.
- Vector
On June 5, Portable called out the rapper after perceiving the lyrics of his new project as a diss track aimed towards him.
Vector released the snippet of his song with a line that reads “Lion King no be Zazu”. The Zazu referred to in the project is the bird in the 1994 Disney animation movie ‘The Lion King’.
However, Portable, known for his trademark song ‘Zazoo Zeh’, thought the rapper was dissing him.
In what appeared to be a one-sided feud, the singer claimed he “is more popular than” the rapper, adding that Vector only needed to reach out to him for a feature so the track would be a hit.
- Bobrisky
In March, the singer and Bobrisky, the crossdresser, traded insults on social media after she won the ‘Best Dressed Female’ award at the premiere of ‘Ajakaju’, a movie by Eniola Ajao.
The Ogun-based artiste slammed the organisers for selecting Borbrisky “who lifted his butts” for the award over “all the fine ladies” in the movie industry.
The singer also warned the transgender not to visit his neighbourhood dressed “as a woman” to avoid being “beaten”.
He also released a diss track wherein he hurled insults at the crossdresser for choosing to “go under the knife to become a woman”.
- Seyi Vibez
Vibez was also at the receiving end of Portable’s outburst. In July 2023, The street-hop singer slammed his colleague for mocking him and his G-Wagon in a song titled ‘Flakky’.
He further threatened to beat Vibez and strip him naked. Apparently, the ‘Ogo Forever’ hitmaker was peeved that his colleague failed to honour his invitation to perform at an event.
Portable said despite performing at Vibez’s concert, his colleague declined to reciprocate the gesture.
- Spyro
In May 2023, Portable berated Spryo for saying he couldn’t put out a collaborative track with him.
This was after Spryo argued that Portable wouldn’t be able to deliver the kind of music that he would write for him because it was not his style.
However, Portable boasted of having more hit songs than Spyro.
“Spyro or what do they call you? You never make am you dey form ajebo. How many shows you don go? Don’t let them push you against helper,” he said.
- Wizkid
Portable also named-dropped another artiste, this time Wizkid, the Grammy-winning singer. In March last year, the street-hop singer criticised Wizkid for his verse in the remix of ‘Abracadabra,’ a song by Rexxie.
“Fine girls for my bed and you no say oil dey my head / Ten girls for my bed, all of them naked, undressed / Who you know dey ball like this / Who you know wey dey spend like this,” Wizkid sang.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner, who said he can’t afford to spend money on ten naked girls, advised Wizkid to focus on realistic songs.
- Goya Menor
In September 2022, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ hitmaker and Goya Menor engaged in a heated war of words for days after the Edo-born music sensation won the ‘Best Street Artiste’ gong at the Headies.
Portable, who was also nominated in the category — but later disqualified — had taken a swipe at Menor while arguing that he does not deserve the award.
But the ‘Ameno Amapiano’ singer did not hesitate to hit back at the street singer. Their heated confrontation dominated discussions on social media.
- Small Doctor
Portable got into a social media spat with Small Doctor after he performed at the latter’s concert in December 2022.
Although what prompted his action remained, Portable claimed Small Doctor once sent some boys to deal with him.
Portable also rained curses on him while boasting that he “is more popular” than Small Doctor. The pair however settled their differences.
- BNXN
BNXN has been taunted by Portable twice; in 2022 and 2024.
In 2022, Portable claimed Ruger and BNXN do not know the art of music making and must come to relearn from him.
He further alleged that the singers also buy streaming numbers and awards despite singing “excessively about women”.
In March, Portable claimed to be “bigger and faster” than BNXN — although he did not provide statistics to back his allegation.
- Davido
The controversial singer recently called out Davido for allegedly refusing to collaborate with him after hosting him in the United States.
The pair linked up at a restaurant in Atlanta earlier this month. But after their hangout, the singer claimed the Afrobeats star promised to make a song with him but allegedly did not deliver on the promise.
“You cannot behave to me the way you do to your other caucus. I was with you in the club for like five hours and looking at you that we would go to the studio,” he said.
“You also promised to take me to the studio the second day. You said good luck to my show. I have good luck already.
“Did you help me print the banner of my show? After you said we are going to make songs together. You have followed rumour mongers.”
- Burna Boy
Burna Boy also made the list of artistes called out by Portable.
In July 2022, the ‘Azaman’ hitmaker slammed Burna Boy for promoting his album ‘Love Damini’ with his picture.
He also claimed the ‘Ye’ singer took some lines mostly used by him without crediting him.
- Poco Lee
Portable called out the dancer Poco Lee for allegedly ripping him off the money given to him by Wizkid at a 2021 event. He claimed Wizkid threw up to $3,000 but Poco Lee gave him only $600.
Portable also slammed Poco Lee for receiving credit for their hit track ‘Zazoo Zeh’. However, the duo appeared to have resolved the disagreements.
