‘Ye’, a hit song by Burna Boy, was played as a prelude at the ceremonial weigh-in of the much-awaited fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul.

Mayweather, undefeated former world champion, will take on the American Youtuber turned amateur boxer in an exhibition match on Sunday.

The ceremonial weigh-in, which held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday, featured several artistes and dancers who thrilled fans gathered at the event aimed at promoting the match.

The exhibition match was earlier billed for February but was later postponed to June 6.

Burna Boy released ‘Ye’ on August 6, 2018, as the sixth single from his third studio album ‘Outside’.

The latest development further stretches what has been an impressive run for the project since its release.

In 2019, the project, produced by Phantom, Nigerian record producer, won the song of the year and listener’s choice at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival.

It also won song of the year and was nominated for best pop single and best recording of the year at the 2019 Headies Awards.

The song has also dominated several music charts and was recently certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Burna Boy had earlier revealed how Shina Peller, lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa and Kajola federal constituency at the house of representatives, inspired the song.
