Spotify has named Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Tems, Asake, and Wizkid among its most-streamed artistes in Nigeria in 2022.
The streaming platform announced artistes who dominated its 2022 Wrapped edition in a statement on Wednesday.
Spotify’s Wrapped is an annual round-up of the top artistes and music of the year as streamed by users around the world.
Data by the streaming platform showed Burna Boy topped the most streamed artistes, most streamed tracks, most streamed albums, and most hearted songs in Nigeria respectively for the outgoing year.
Ayra Starr, Tems, and Rihanna topped the most-streamed female artistes in Nigeria chart.
According to the statement, the data “paints a picture of how Nigerian music captured hearts, both at home and around the world”.
In his remark, Victor Okpala, Spotify’s artist & label partnerships manager, said: “2022 ushered us into an era of cultural overdrive and we’re excited for fans and artists alike to share these insights on the music they created and listened to this year.”
