Burna Boy, Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, says he will be exiting all social media platforms “permanently.”
The ‘Ye’ crooner whose real name is Damini Ogulu made this disclosure on his official Instagram page.
The Spaceship Entertainment boss said his social media account will now be handled by his management team to promote his music and forthcoming shows.
“I am leaving all social media platforms permanently. They are now strictly for my show dates and new music. My social media will now be in the full control of my management. Love and positivity to all,” Burna Boy wrote.
Though the opinionated singer gave no official reason for his sudden exit, Burna Boy has come under criticisms on several occasions for some of his social media posts.
Recently, he had shared his thought on Nigerian singers who chase after international music deals. He hinted that they may end up as ‘international victims’.
Apart from the entertainment industry, the Afro-fusion artiste is also known to make vocal contributions on topical societal issues.
At the peak of Naira Marley’s statement on internet fraud– which stirred up social media outrage; Burna Boy made a post on his Instagram page where he tackled the federal government over its incompetencies and negligence.
The ‘Dangote’ singer has continued to grow his music brand globally. In April, the singer thrilled fans to a specular performance at the 2019 Coachella festival.
