Bolu took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to announce that he called off the relationship with his French partner.

Although he did not state any reason for the breakup, Bolu said there was “no bad blood” between him and his ex-lover.

“Yes, we broke up, sadly we are done, and our relationship is over. I was blessed by every bit of our time together. But sometimes things just don’t work out, love and light,” he wrote in a caption of a video he shared on his page.

“I think in life, you just never say never to anything. But as it stands right now, the relationship is over, and that’s just as much as I can say. Sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s fine.

“I still have plans of doing a gay wedding in Nigeria. Let’s just hope my next relationship works out.”

The spotlight had consistently beamed on Bolu after he publicly revealed his gay status months ago on Instagram.

Homosexuality is prohibited by law in Nigeria and offenders could bag a 14-year sentence if convicted.

However, the law introduced in 2014 by the Jonathan-led administration has continued to stir heated controversies.
