Mohbad, a former Marlian Music signee, died last Tuesday and was buried the day after.

The police in Lagos have since commenced a probe to determine the cause of his death.

A variety of allegations have been making the rounds, with the singer Naira Marley being at the receiving end of it.

This is based on Mohbad’s faceoff and ultimate fallout with Marley’s label Marlian Music months before his death.

In a viral video, Mohbad also once instructed fans to blame Naira Marley and the label if any harm came to him.

Amid the public outrage over Mohbad’s death, Bella Shmurda, who is a close friend of the deceased, took to Twitter on Sunday to call for the arrest of Marlian Music executives.

He specifically demanded the arrest of Sam Larry, a music promoter.

Shmurda said he is willing to take unconventional actions to ensure the culpable parties are brought to book.

“In the past few days, [I] have tried my best not to carry my phone and type anything but Mohbad’s spirit won’t let me rest. Sam Larry and the whole Marlian Music must be arrested,” his tweet reads in part.

On September 14, the police initiated an investigation into Mohbad’s death and mentioned the possibility of exhuming his corpse for an autopsy.

Following Mohbad’s death, over 200,000 people have called for the ban of Marlian Records in a petition.

Mohbad’s management said the singer was in court over his royalties withheld at Marlian Music before he died.

Ironically, Naira Marley has mourned Mohbad’s demise and joined the call for a probe into his passing.
