Ari Behn, an author and former husband of Martha Louise, a Norwegian princess, has died by suicide on Christmas Day. He was 47.

Behn, who once accused Kevin Spacey of groping him at a concert, committed suicide on Wednesday, according to Geir Håkonsund, his family’s spokesman.

“It is with great sadness in our hearts that we, the very closest relatives of Ari Behn, must announce that he took his own life today. We ask for respect for our privacy in the time to come,” the statement read.

“We ask for respect for our privacy in the coming time.”

According to his website, the author married Louise in 2002 but the marriage collapsed in 2016, after the couple opted for a divorce. Their union was blessed with three children.

In his reaction to the tragedy, Norway’s King Harald described Behn’s demise as unfortunate, adding that he was “an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm, fond memories of him.”

“It is with great sadness that the Queen and I have received the message of Ari Behn’s passing,” he said.

“Ari has been an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm, fond memories of him.

“We grieve that our grandchildren have now lost their dear father, and have deep compassion for his parents and siblings, who now have lost their dear son and brother.”

He is widely known for his literary works which included three novels, three short story collections and three plays.
