Forty-eight hours after the death of her boyfriend DJ Olu, Ajibola Ajimobi has for the first time broken her silence.
The third daughter of Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo state governor, shared on Snapchat a picture of herself and the late disc jockey.
“Rest easy my baby. Always watching over me my angel,” she captioned the photo posted on Monday.
DJ Olu was found dead in his car on Saturday, alongside a friend.
He was the second associate of Afro-pop star, Davido, to die within a week. Tagbo Umeike, boyfriend of actress Caroline Danjuma, had died a few days earlier.
Ajibola and DJ Olu did not often publicise their relationship on Instagram and Twitter, save for Snapchat where they shared intimate moments which disappear from the feed after 24 hours.
Her followers on Instagram have been posting condolence messages on her page, especially on a picture of her fingers intertwined with that of the late DJ Olu.
One of the comments read: “I keep staring at this picture and it’s like my heart keeps shattering over and over again from what I know and have seen you guys were the ideal couple goal and one of my faves… you have always been strong and I hope God will strenghten you even more this time… he really has gone to a better place friend.. I love you and will keep praying for you forever and always. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
Her elder sister, Abisola Kola-Daisi, had earlier mourned the death of the disc jockey, describing him as “my baby brother and best uncle to my babies”.
Ajibola runs The Lush beauty company and also has a YouTube vlog called ‘Always About Ajay’.
