Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has taken to social media to celebrate Davido, the Afrobeats star, on his birthday.

Davido turned 31 on November 21, 2023.

In a post via his X page on Tuesday, Adeleke described the music star as an “all-around great guy”.

Adeleke also shared photos of himself and Davido.

The governor, who is also Davido’s uncle, said he had encouraged the singer to “aim high” in his music aspirations years ago.

Adeleke said he is “incredibly proud” of the man Davido has become.

“Happy birthday Davido,” he wrote.

“I vividly remember when you shared your musical aspirations with me years ago, playing me your EP. I encouraged you to aim high.

“And now, as a MULTIPLE Grammy Award nominee, philanthropist, all-around great guy, I am incredibly proud of the man you have become”.

David Adedeji Adeleke was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

He rose to fame in 2012, after the release of ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, his debut studio album.

In the same year, he won the ‘Next Rated’ award at The Headies.

In 2016, the singer founded the record label Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).

Davido released his second album ‘A Good Time’ in November 2019, and ‘A Better Time’, his third album in 2020.

Earlier this year, the singer released ‘Timeless’, his fourth album. The project has continued to garner millions of streams across global music platforms.

The album also earned Davido three nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards.
