Shotunde earlier made headlines after he was honoured by Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos state, when he broke a 37-year record at LASU by graduating with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.86.

On the other hand, Odunsi, who hails from Ijebu in Ogun state, won the Global Open Mathematics Tournament (GOT) for 2021 after competing against participants from across the world, taking home the $1,000 prize money.

In a statement on Thursday, Abiodun said an endowment fund with the monetary content of N5 million has been created for Odunsi by the state government ahead of subsequent donations to come from the private sector.

“The fund is seeded with 5million Naira and subsequent, voluntary donations from the private sector.

“Mr. Oladimeji Shotunde too, an indigene of Ogun State who recently emerged Best Graduating Student of the Lagos State University, was awarded a 2-bedroom bungalow and a 2million Naira cash prize.”
