Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian singer, has come through with a new song titled ‘Rodo’.
The ‘Sade’ hitmaker took to his social media pages on Friday to announce the song’s release.
In ‘Rodo’ — which translates to pepper — the songwriter boasts of his wealth to a mystery woman.

He also promises to spend all his money on her without considering the state of the economy.
“Baby maje kò loud/ Asante sana/ Aranba da if you give me reason gan gan/ Kini cost of living gan gan/ Seeing is believing gan gan/ Pepper bi o rodó/ Bebe di ó robo robo/ Kòremi o rondo rondo,” he sings in a mixture of Yoruba and English.
Gold rose to fame on the back of his hit song ‘Sade’ and a high-life cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’.
The singer has received numerous awards and recognition for his craft.
In March 2023, he was signed to Def Jam Recordings. He also owns a record label called Afro Urban Records.
Gold is married to Simi. The pair tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first child in June 2020.
