Phyna, the 2022 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) winner, has addressed rumours claiming she is in a relationship with Khaid, a 19-year-old singer.
In July 2023, Phyna shared a picture on Instagram alongside Khaid.
She also reposted a TikTok video where the singer serenaded her with his hit song ‘Annabella’.
Their loved-up display sparked speculation among fans about the nature of their relationship.
During an interview on her podcast, Phyna discussed her connection with Khaid, highlighting the double standards society often imposes when it comes to age differences in relationships.
She questioned why there is a stigma attached to older women dating younger men, while relationships between older men and younger women are more accepted.
She added that age should not dictate who someone can or cannot be with, stating that “it is just a number”.
“Me and this boy take picture; Khaid. He is young and the picture, I posted on social media. He posted it as well. Omo, if you see the dragging, ‘Oh Phyna, is this boy you’re dating now?’, ‘Oh Phyna is 30 years old, this boy is 10 years old’,” she said.
“It was so terrible that I was now wondering that in this country we have ladies who are married to way older men. So, I want to know the difference between being a younger man and being a younger girl. Why cannot we have the same balance, I thought they said age is just a number?”
Phyna wears many hats aside from being a reality TV star; she is also an actress, model, and hype woman.
She has featured in several movies, including ‘Unholy Saint,’ ‘Osato,’ and ‘Shattered Innocence’.
In November, the reality TV star revealed she lost 17 ambassadorial deals because of online controversies.
