BBNaija’s Chichi: I was sexually, physically abused while growing up

Chichi, the former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, has opened up on her childhood struggles that shaped her life path. 

In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Chichi said she became a stripper to make money and escape her “abusive” past.

The reality star also revealed she was “sexually and physically abused” while growing up as a child.

Chichi said she had to put in a lot of effort to achieve everything she has, adding that “the only thing I got for free is BBNaija”.

“I have gone through things a girl child should not go through. Just think of anything in your head, I have gone through that. I have seen it all, physical abuse, sexual abuse and all,” she said.

“There is nothing that I have gotten that anyone gave me for free. The only thing I got for free is Big Brother Naija. I do not know how it happened but I just thank God, because nobody ever saw something good in me even when I was a child.

“A lot of things happened, that is why I went into stripping. A lot of people would not understand, because Nigerians are not ready to relate to my story.”

Chichi, born Chinenyenwa Desire Okoebor, earlier revealed her battle with depression after the show’s reunion.
